MetroWest Backgammon Society

About the Society

The MetroWest Backgammon Society (MWBGS) is located in Ashland, MA. We invite backgammon enthusiasts of all skill levels to join us for both in-person and online matches and tournaments.

Ashland is centrally located for Metrowest Boston players, and offers a number of venues for in-person play. Available locations include Dulce de Leche, Ashland Fish & Game, Ashland Community Center, and Henry's Place at the  Framingham State University  Warren Center. The Society is also open to scheduling in-person locations outside of Ashland. Let us know and we will attempt to accommodate and coordinate.

For online play, there is a variety of backgammon websites that provide opportunities to connect with MWBGS members, as well as with players from around the world. Online backgammon sites include Backgammon Galaxy, Backgammon Studio Heroes, and Backgammon Hub. All are free to join and can accommodate  individual play, as well as MWBGS tournaments.

Although MWBGS is not a gambling organization, the Society is not opposed to friendly wagering among friends. We are advocates of “Think Globally, Shop Locally”, and our match venues offer food and drink, both adult and otherwise. We encourage all players to support our local businesses. 

It is our mission to provide a safe and inclusive environment for backgammon enthusiasts to enjoy informal and friendly matches.
